How to Enable Password protection on your Flash drive
Are you looking for a way to encrypt your pen drive (USB drive) and enable password protection in it? In Windows 7 you can enable password protection on your USB drive using Microsoft's BitLocker technology. Using this feature of Windows 7 you can encrypt the data in your flash memory and assign a password to access those data. If you don't want to set a password you can use your smart card to unlock the flash drive.
So to use Microsoft BitLock feature to encrypt your flash memory follow the steps below.
1. Right click on Flash drive
2. Click on Turn on BitLocker
Now the BitLocker feature starts encrypt the flash drive and its content.
Now we will be prompted to set a password or smart card protection for our flash memory drive.
Here you need to enter your password which need to to unlock the flash drive to continue. After enabling BitLocker feature you need this password to access data stored in the flash drive.
