There are two free programs which lets you enable aero snap in xp and vista, one of them is called AeroSnap and the other one is called Acer GridVista, lets discuss on how to use both of these utilities to add aero snap in vista and xp.

AeroSnap – It is a freeware application that allows you to resize, arrange or maximize your desktop windows with just drag’n'drop, you just need to simply drag a window to a side of your desktop to snap it. You can see more how this will work as explained in the video below.

Acer GridVista [ Via Windows Guide ] – This application divides you screen in several sections, in which you can place opened windows. It will divide your monitor in 4 individual sections each one will have its own settings. You can choose in between the four screen layouts to divide the screen into sections in which different windows can be snap. It provides some extra options which makes it more than just an aero snap, it gets integrated with windows 7 easily.

It has the option to make windows transparent and another option to make windows stick on-top of others. Once you install this application, you will see a blue monitor in system tray of Taskbar, right click and edit the settings to how many zones you want to divide that monitor into.
