Pandora Internet Radio Pt. 2

Pandora Internet Radio Pt. 2

Pandora is one of today’s most popular radio stations available on the web! What is so special about Pandora is that you get to choose what kind of songs you want to listen to—you essentially create your own radio station! Today, we'll discuss about how to manage your profile, genre stations and more!

Once you get on the website, sign in with your username and password. If you are ever on a different screen other than the main one displaying your radio stations, simply click on the first tab on the upper left-hand corner of the page that says “Your Profile.” This will bring you back to your homepage. If you click on the side arrow of the tab on the toolbar that reads “Your Stations,” you can sort your stations either by the date they were added or by name. And you can also select to show only certain genres of stations or all of them in your list.

The second main tab on the top of the homepage is labeled “About the Music.” Under this tab, you can select to find a song, find an artist, Pandora Blog, Pandora Video Series, or learn more about the Music Genome Project. Some of these features, however, only work if you download Pandora One. There is a 24-hour free trial available to download online if you wish to use this more advanced program!

On the bottom of the homepage, or Your Profile, there are four options listed in enlarged letters. The first reads Genre Stations. If you click on listen now, it lets you select a genre category, be it alternative, blues, children’s, country, dance, hip hop, reggae, rock, or anything else! You can click on the “x” in the upper right hand corner of the box if you wish to return to your homepage.

The second option is labeled Video Series. If you click on watch now, it opens a new window that shows great videos about music, how music is made, and where you can hear it! You can even enter your email address on your page if you wish to receive updates. This is a newer feature that has been added to Pandora.

The third option is Pandora Mobile. If you click on find your phone, it opens a new window listing a selection of some of the most popular cell phones out there today. If yours is one of the ones listed, you can click on “Learn more” and listen to Pandora on your mobile phone anywhere you please, whether it be at the gym, in the car, during work breaks—wherever!

The fourth option is Friend’s Music. If you click on check it out, you can discover what music your friends are listening to and currently enjoying. Pandora allows you to connect via Facebook or find your friends by entering in their email address. You and your friends can swap great music stations and more! Enjoy!
